Singles from April 1969

PLAY THE SHOW

By the Spring of 1969, pop music’s transition from confection to personal expression was complete. Mixed in with psychological observations and pensive reflections was a huge amount of psychobabble on cultural impressions. It was the dawning of the Age of Aquarius!

Today’s show features a few random pop songs from that era. We’ll save album tracks for another show. Songs include;

1)    Only the Strong Survive – Jerry Butler

2)    Grazing in the Grass – Te Friends of Distinction

3)    These Eyes – The Guess Who

4)    The Boxer – Simon and Garfunkel

5)    Stand! – Sly & the Family Stone

6)    First of May – The Bee Gees

7)    No, Not Much – The Vogues (as a ‘Bad Hit’)

8)    Aquarius/Let the Sun Shine In – The Fifth Dimension

9)  Hair – The Cowsills
